SR 68 / Orange Avenue Resurfacing Project in Fort Pierce Underway

CWR Contracting has begun construction on the SR 68 / Orange Avenue Resurfacing project in Fort Pierce. This nearly 2-mile project is an important step in enhancing local infrastructure, and the team is excited to be underway.

The scope includes a range of improvements designed to enhance safety and accessibility. Crews will mill and resurface the existing roadway to deliver a smoother, safer driving experience. New bicycle share-lane markings will accommodate cyclists and promote safer sharing of the road. Pedestrian curb ramps will be reconstructed to improve accessibility, and upgraded lighting at vehicle and pedestrian signalized intersections will improve visibility during night hours.

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2025. During construction, the CWR team will work closely with local schools, neighborhoods, and community agencies to uphold safety standards and minimize impact on the public. Open communication is a priority throughout the project.
